If you struggle with the telescope you already own our Setting Up a Telescope course will get you out there enjoying the sky as you intended. 2 Bed Caravan We have a 2 bed caravan (sleeping max 6 persons) at the nearby Monreith Sands Holiday Park. Aurora Alert You don’t have to travel to the Arctic  to see an Aurora Predicting an aurora is difficult, but we  will try to issue alerts up to 48 hours  in advance  Alerts will be sent via Twitter and Facebook We welcome:

Whatever your interested in Astronomy or if you just want to experience seeing a sky full of stars, we can take you on a journey around our Solar System and far beyond to see the many wonders of the Universe. With our observatory housing a 16 inch reflecting telescope (the largest in Dumfries & Galloway) and warm, comfortable accommodation in the cottage everything you need for stargazing is on site, making additional travelling unnecessary. Night sky tours are available to non residents too. Please bring warm clothes, coats and hats - it can be cold at night at any time of the year. Do you have a star named after you? Just let us know the details and we can advise the best time of year to visit to see your star. Our primary aim at the Centre is to ensure guests get maximum enjoyment from a visit.
