Skywatcher Refractor Telescopes
OVL Ltd distributors of the Skywatcher and TAL telescope brands have a huge range of instruments.
The following are my personal suggestions to beginners wanting to buy a refractor telescope. We have listed telescopes
up to a maximum of £400. If you have the money and desire there is no reason why you could not start with a far more
expensive Skywatcher telescope. None of these telescopes are "toys" and are generally not suitable for small children.

worth considering if you want a portable telescope that is easy to pack for a holiday.

Note: The Startravel range is also available on Alt Az mounts, but this type of mount while excellent for terrestrial
observing has limited Celestial use.
EVOSTAR - Long Focal Length Refractors
Refractors are often overlooked as first telescopes. A 3inch refractor will give a view equivalent to a 5 or 6 inch reflector.
This combined with a greater focal length than many small reflectors means the views through refractors are brighter,
have higher contrast and capable of greater magnification without dimming.
