The following are my personal suggestions to beginners wanting to buy a reflector telescope. We have listed telescopes
up to a maximum of £510. If you have the money and desire there is no reason why you could not start with a far more
expensive Skywatcher telescope. None of these telescopes are "toys" and are generally not suitable for small children.

TAL Russian Build Telescopes
This solidly built telescope is the best small aperture telescope and more than lives up to expectations.

These telescopes are often available in short focal length (650mm) and longer focal length (1200mm) versions. The first
give bright wide field of views for sweeping the night sky and are quite portable. The second give higher magnification
which is better for viewing the planets.
