The pleasantly decorated and furnished accommodation comprises:
Double/Family Room. This large room with washbasin has an attractive view to
the distant Cainsmore mountains.
Extra beds can be added for small children
Single/Twin Room. Bright and south facing.
Each room has a radio alarm clock plus tea / coffee making facilities.
Rooms share the bathroom facilities plus second toilet.
The spacious residents Lounge / Dinning Room is a perfect place to unwind after
a day of sightseeing. Although the cottage is centrally heated the cast iron stove
in the stone fireplace provides a cosy warmth for the autumn and winter evenings.
Guests can use the TV/VCR/DVD and Radio/CD or relax with a book from our
wide-ranging collection.
The Reception Area has our collection of astronomy books to help prepare for a
night of observing. During observing sessions hot drinks are provided here. The
room has red lighting to help maintain your night vision.
Please note that we have a no-smoking policy throughout the cottage.
Room price includes a full Scottish breakfast (vegetarian option available) served
at a time to suit you up to 10am. So should you have a long night of observing
you can have a lie-in.
We cater for vegetarian, celiac or any other dietary needs.
An excellent 2 or 3 course home-cooked evening meal is available on request.
Helen has gained a reputation for the high quality of her cooking.
Good food needs good quality ingredients so whenever possible we use our own
home grown vegetables, those produced by our local organic grower or products
promoted as part of the Savour the Flavours initiative.
